A morning greeting from your friendly neighborhood icicle - I mean librarian
When I left for work, it was -10 this morning. I don't think I've ever left the house when it was that cold, ever. Brr. I hope to have a nice warm fire at home again tonight. And I hope that the kids who come over for their story time today don't have blue fingers and toes.

Around there, do you normally start your car 15-30 minutes before you go anywhere? I don't recall reading where you are exactly, but I'm sure I read it somewhere :)
I'm in the Cleveland, OH area - Shaker Heights to be specific.
Some people do start start their cars ahead of time, but I don't. Mine takes forever to warm up - I had to make a side trip and it took me about 30 minutes to get to work this morning, and when I got here, the thermostat on the car still read "cold".
What I need are a couple of large dogs to keep me warm. I'm not sure what I'd do with them while I am working.
A little tip from a cold climate: put a chunk of cardboard in front of your radiator, covering 75% or more. It will warm up much quicker. Obviously take it out when the temperatures outside start to warm up in the spring.
And the -10* doesn't even take into account the windchill that was -25*.
Hey, at least it's up to -6*, now!
Ugh, ugh, ugh.
